Think And Grow Rich
My first thought when I heard about this book called Think And Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill, was that it was just another one of the multitude of hyped-up books about motivating yourself to make money. I came across the book because it was mentioned by Tony Robbins, and I also heard that other motivational authors, like Stephen Covey, all held Think And Grow Rich in very high regard. Because of this, I finally bought it and was quite astonished to find out how similar the central message of this book was to the concept about creating our own realities.
Here's some of the main quotes that I took notice of:
“Our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts which we hold in our minds, and, by means with which no man is familiar, these “magnets” attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts.” – p. 29
Umm, who said that? Napoleon Hill or some channelled non-physical entity, like Seth or Abraham? Seems like the exact same message to me. And with Think And Grow Rich offering up such extraordinary ideas, it goes far beyond being just another book about making money. It says that each of us can draw unto ourselves the very circumstances of life we desire using the dominant thoughts we hold in our minds. Sounds so . . . familiar.
“This earth, every one of the billions of individual cells in your body, and every atom of matter, began as an intangible form of energy. Desire is thought impulse! Thought impulses are forms of energy. When you begin with the thought impulse, desire, to accumulate money, you are drafting into your service the same stuff that nature used in creating this earth, and every material form in the universe, including the body and brain in which the thought impulses function.” – p. 92
Come again? Thought impulses are energy? The same energy that was used in the creation of, well, the entire physical universe? Everything that exists began as energy? As thought? And this is coming from a bunch of rich guys living in the early Twentieth Century prior to World War Two, not some pleasant ladies sitting at home in the 80's and 90's channelling non-physical entities. Yet, the message is the same.
"The subconscious mind is the connecting link between the finite mind of man and Infinite Intelligence. It is the intermediary through which one may draw upon the forces of Infinite Intelligence at will. It, alone, contains the secret process by which mental impulses are modified and changed into their spiritual equivalent. It, alone, is the medium through which prayer may be transmitted to the source capable of answering prayer." - p. 198
"There is a power, or a First Cause, or an Intelligence, which permeates every atom of matter, and embraces every unit of energy perceptible to man." - p. 214
Napoleon Hill's Infinite Intelligence, meet Seth's All-That-Is. I believe you know each other . . . that's because You're both the exact same omnipresent Entity. These quotes certainly make it sound like our minds are directly linked to Infinite Intelligence, and that everything that exists is part of this Intelligence. Sounds just like a quote from Seth about All-That-Is. At one point during my readings of Think And Grow Rich, I was starting to think that maybe Jane Roberts had actually channelled the ghost of Napoleon Hill. Hmmm? Naaa.
But as you can see, Think And Grow Rich is not your typical book with a few tips about making money. To me, its another classic source of knowledge explaining how I can create my own reality through the dominant intentions I hold within my mind.
