Quotes From Philosophy

I'm not a philosopher, alright? Sure, I have a BA in Philosophy with a minor in English from U.T. Arlington, but that doesn't mean much. Truth is, I was a student with a B average, I skipped as many classes as they allowed me to, didn't participate in any philosophical discussions, and I took almost as many high level English & History classes for electives as I did Philosophy classes. And UTA is only a state school . . . hardly a bastion of developed intellect thought. At some point I noticed that I was just there to finish what I started. I could care less that I have a degree in Philosophy, but I do still find it to be a very interesting subject.

So, with that said, you have to understand that I only read philosophy as a hobby. All I'm going to do in this section is store quotes from old books I've read or new ones that I am currently wading through. I might add some random thoughts about those quotes, but don't look for any prolegomena, dialogues, or treatises on the nature of anything here.

Quote Of The Moment

No matter whether the universe is a confusion of atoms or a natural growth, let my first conviction be that I am part of a Whole which is under Nature's goverance; and my second, that a bond of kinship exists between myself and all other similar parts.
Marcus Aurelius
