I built my first website in 1995 right after I graduated from UTA. It was called Rick’s Magic Hoard (LOL!) and it sold Magic The Gathering collectible gaming cards, which was my gaming hobby at the time. I would buy boxes and boxes of MTG cards in order to get four of each type and I ended up with a lot of extra cards. Back then, the expression, “If you build it, they will come,” was still true of websites on the Internet, and I was quickly selling my extra uncommon and rare cards all around the globe. I had no idea how people found my site. It was fun for me to send envelopes full of MTG cards to customers in far away places like Isreal, Taiwan, Australia, Brazil and Europe.
After I stopped playing MTG, I had less cards to sell and less reasons to maintain a site. A few years passed before I got back into creating websites again, and the Internet sure had changed. It now took a good amount of knowledge to succeed financially on the Web, and it wasn’t until April of 2001 that I felt like I knew enough. Two friends and I started our own part-time web design company which later turned into Adams Site’s Web Templates. As I began to realize the true financial possibilities of affiliate marketing, I decided that I would make being a webmaster my full-time occupation. So, in May of 2002, I quit my marketing job, launched a successful affiliate marketing site about Frontpage Templates, and just went on building more and more affiliate sites.
In January of 2004, one of my Adams Site business partners, Jon Norwood, and I formed the Web Exordium which now operates several successful websites.
